Assume the role of a lone starship pilot tasked with defending Earth from the invading alien forces of the Iridion. Originally conceived as a Game Boy Color shooter, Iridion transitioned to the GBA, where Shin’en utilized innovative real-time sprite resizing and encoding techniques to simulate 3D visuals without true 3D rendering. The game leverages the GAX Sound Engine, enabling rich music playback through real-time decoding, maximizing cartridge space for stunning graphics and immersive sound.

Gameplay is straightforward yet thrilling: a classic forward-scrolling rail shooter reminiscent of Star Fox, controlled solely with the directional pad, A, and Start buttons. The ship moves at a fixed speed, with no options to brake or accelerate, emphasizing precise navigation and quick reflexes. The narrative kicks off with Earth under sudden attack, as the Iridion lay mines in orbit and bombs in the Pacific Ocean. As the last hope, you pilot an experimental SHN fighter, battling waves of Iridion fighters and natural hazards across various environments—from underground tunnels to oceanic battles and orbital confrontations.
