Mario Party Advance is the seventh entry in the iconic Mario Party series and the second handheld installment, exclusively for the Game Boy Advance, following Mario Party-e for the e-Reader. Set in the vibrant world of Shroom City, players embark on a quest alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Yoshi to recover scattered minigames and gadgets that have fallen from Party World—a high-altitude party haven under attack by Bowser and Koopa Kid.

Guided by Toad, players must help local citizens and thwart Bowser's plans to regain the lost treasures. The game emphasizes a predominantly single-player experience, with access to Shroom City requiring only one player. While multiplayer modes are limited, players can enjoy a variety of mini-games, gadgets, and a physical Bonus Board that complements the main gameplay.
