Description
Mortal Kombat Advance
Experience the intense world of Mortal Kombat on the go with Mortal Kombat Advance, the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Released in late 2001, this version features a roster identical to its classic 16-bit predecessors, offering familiar fighters and gameplay dynamics.
Designed for the GBA's limited controls—only four buttons—the game features streamlined special move inputs, resulting in modified or consolidated move sequences to fit the handheld's capabilities. While blood and gore are slightly toned down to suit younger audiences, the game retains the core visceral excitement that Mortal Kombat is known for.
Due to hardware constraints, the character roster is simplified: each character (excluding Noob Saibot and bosses) has one Fatality and one Friendship move. Notably, the epic ending where Shao Kahn's castle explodes is omitted, along with Shao Kahn's Lost Treasures and Stage Fatalities.
Several stages—such as The Subway, Balcony, Bridge, Bell Tower, The Temple, Graveyard, Jade’s Desert, and Waterfront—are unavailable, although some, like Lost Bridge, are visually hinted at in background elements but cannot be accessed in gameplay.
The storyline closely follows that of Mortal Kombat 3 and its related titles: Shao Kahn's attempt to resurrect Sindel, the subsequent invasion of Earth, and Raiden's rallying of Earth's warriors to defend the realm. Prepare for fast-paced battles as you fight to save Earth from the forces of evil!
