As you recover, you are welcomed by Mick’s girlfriend, Sara, and his loyal ally, Carter, who help you piece together the events of that fateful night.
Set against the backdrop of Coast City—whose road network draws inspiration from Rockport in Need for Speed: Most Wanted—the city is divided into various crew territories, adding a layer of territorial rivalry. Unlike other versions, this game omits Autosculpt, Canyons, and Drift events, focusing instead on intense street racing and pursuit mechanics.
Notably, Need for Speed: Own The City is the first handheld NFS game to introduce free-roam police pursuits, offering players the freedom to explore the city while evading law enforcement.
