Compelling Storyline & Setting
Set five years after the events of Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, the story unfolds as the Kanto and Johto regions unite into a single expansive land. With only eight Gym challenges per region, tough decisions had to be made—resulting in the closure of Gyms in Viridian, Pewter, Fuchsia, Cinnabar, Mahogany, Blackthorn, Violet, and Azalea. Gym Leaders from these areas have pursued new paths, adding depth and history to the region's evolution.
The landscape has been transformed by both human activity and weather phenomena—Pewter City’s mines encroach upon Viridian Forest, and Mahogany Town faces flooding challenges. Meanwhile, reforestation efforts have beautified towns across the region. Notably, Pokémon from Johto now inhabit Kanto, and vice versa, enriching the Pokémon diversity across both regions.
