Riviera The Promised Land ROM
Description
Riviera: The Promised Land is an engaging turn-based RPG first released in 2002 by Sting Entertainment for WonderSwan Color, marking the debut of the acclaimed Dept. Heaven series. It was later adapted for the Game Boy Advance in 2004 and remade with enhanced visuals for PlayStation Portable in 2006, with North American release by Atlus USA in 2007.
Step into the shoes of Ein, a brave Grim Angel tasked with battling demons and rival angels to seal away the four sinister fountainheads of evil known as the Accursed. Accompanied by four heroines—Fia, Lina, Serene, and Cierra—and his feline familiar Rose, players will navigate a rich storyline filled with strategic combat and heartfelt interactions.
The game masterfully blends classic turn-based battles with strategy and dating sim elements. Player choices during conversations influence the relationships and trust levels with the heroines, ultimately impacting the game's ending. Favoring different characters can lead to multiple romantic and narrative outcomes, adding depth and replayability.
Structured into seven main chapters, each begins in the city of Elendia with a unique mission. Players traverse nine stages per chapter—culminating in a boss battle at stage eight, with a secret infiltration stage often hidden in the ninth. Each stage offers diverse environments, events, and encounters, providing a dynamic and immersive experience. After completing a chapter, performance is evaluated, and trigger points earned can be used to influence future chapters, creating a strategic layer to gameplay.
