While maintaining the core gameplay of the series, Tekken Advance introduces a simplified control scheme tailored for the GBA’s buttons. Instead of one button per limb, each button now executes a specific move: A for kicks, B for punches, and R for throws. The L button is used exclusively in 3v3 tag battles to switch fighters seamlessly. A clever sidestep mechanic creates a dynamic illusion of 3D movement, adding depth to the handheld fighting experience.
Choose from most of the starter characters from Tekken 3, excluding Eddy Gordo and Lei Wulong. Notably, Gun Jack is available from the start, having been unlockable in Tekken 3, while Heihachi Mishima serves as the final boss and unlockable character, replacing Ogre.
