Developed by Magenta Software for console versions and Digital Eclipse for PC and GBA, this game immerses players in a zany adventure inspired by the hit film of the same year, with a planned but unreleased GameCube edition.
On a stormy day, young Conrad and Sally find themselves trapped indoors, awaiting their mother's return. The mischievous Cat in the Hat arrives to lift their spirits, but chaos ensues when their neighbor, Larry Quinn, steals the magical Crab Lock, unleashing wild magic that corrupts their home and threatens to spread beyond. Guided by the family's trusty fish, players navigate through creatively designed stages—each a transformed household room or object—to recapture the magic and thwart Larry Quinn’s villainous plans.
The game features dynamic platforming challenges, colorful environments, and engaging boss encounters. In the Game Boy Advance version, players also partake in scuba-diving stages to collect parts of the Crab Lock and a special bonus where the Cat pilots a cleaning machine to catch Thing One and Thing Two. Collectibles include themed icons and defeated enemies, adding extra fun and replay value to the chaotic adventure.
